We hired Shoveltown Home Inspections to evaluate a home we have contracted to buy. I was initially impressed that out of the 8 companies recommended by our Realtor, they were the only one to list the owners cell phone number. Our appointment needed to be changed due to my error and Dean (the owner) called me right away. He rearranged his schedule so he could do our inspection the very next day. After he extensively went through the house, Dean took me with him as he meticulously reported his findings. The emailed report that I received shortly thereafter was very impressive. All areas of concern that we had talked about were listed with photos of each and how to remedy each situation if we chose to do so. We also chose a Radon test which used the latest technology and we received a report with specific results. A comprehensive inspection report by Foster was helpful beyond expectation. Several issues noted in the report were not visible to the eye but critical to understanding the status of the property. Foster went through the entire home, attic crawl spaces to the basement, interior and exterior. He welcomed me to accompany him throughout the house, explaining the systems, the findings and encouraging any questions. His explanations were thorough; his answers very considerate.
